I’m looking to attend with a British Trinidadian girl but am a bit concerned as being of Scottish and Irish extraction you don’t get much whiter skin than me !

Without any disrespect meant is it safe for a white person/ tourist ?I have been to another certain West Indian island and quite a few areas are out of bounds to non natives

Nice write up.Very interesting and aptly describes the feeling of playing mas in the Trini carnival, as i read through, the loud soca music reverberated in my head and my whole experience of the carnival floaded through me. Truly nice and unforgettable.

What a great costume! I loved the narrative too…and I listened to a bit of soca music while there. Absolutely would love to visit Trinidad during Carnival!

The photos are fabulous. I love your explanation of the celebration of Trinidad Carnival.
This make me want to attend the next Carnival. I celebrated Carnival in Cumana, Venezuela but it does not compare to the Official Trinidad Carnival.

It is wonderful to see the photo of your big smile are being in the Carnival. Your story is hilarious and the title is an attention getter.

I am looking forward to going to the Tobago Jazz Experience 2013 feat. Dionne Warwick, India Arie, Melanie Fiona http://theskychitravelguide.blogspot.com/2013/02/tobago-jazz-festival-2013.html. I am sure this will be a great party as well.
