Thanks for a really interesting story about the alternative national parks near Yosemite.

We are keen to visit the USA in the not too distant future and are definitely keen to visit many national parks, but we are also concerned that if there are too many people that it will take away from the experience. As a result of your article I will ensure that we also research some ‘plan B’ options and be open minded about taking the less famous options!

In reply to Digital Nomads. That's a shame that you missed out on the parks. There are many tour and transportation companies that can take you into the parks for a relatively affordable price.

We missed all national parks when we were in the States last summer, as none of us drive and you need a ride to get there. The problem there are no public transportation in the united states like everywhere in the world!

Looks like a great place to explore – and one I hadn’t heard of. I like to avoid the crowds too so it sounds to be like you have to be at Sequoia NP by dawn to do just that.

Great photos! I love Sequoia. Never knew those gas pumps were called gravity pumps. They use them a lot here in Thailand – not nearly as vintage cool though.
