You can do the drive in 3 days, but you will end up on the road most of the time as the speed limits on the parkway are very low and it’s pretty busy during the summer months. If you could break it up a bit more, you’ll have more time for sightseeing.

Great info thanks, we are doing the drive this summer and am wondering if the following is do-able,
We are staying in Pigeon Forge the first night driving to West Jefferson via Cherokee along BR Parkway where we are staying at the Park Vista Inn. Then another day of driving and staying in Roanoke followed by our final days driving staying in Brunswick.
Do you think its too much in three days?

You can find a great list of campsites as well their operating hours and such here.. As far as taking the same route home goes I would think most individuals don’t. The BRP has a very low speed limit so if you plan on taking the whole parkway in one direction it’s usually very time consuming to return the whole parkway back.
