Tim, It was surreal to say the least. It was incredible to see not just that they continue the craftsmanship today, but that it is such an old trade and the work came out so beautiful so many centuries ago. It’s also amazing to me that one person commissioned all of this work in the name of love…I’m a stickler for a good fairy tale :D

I was able to see it a couple of years ago but I was apart from my significant other (now husband) as he was studying in Australia. I’m sure being there with your love gives the experience an entirely different feel. It’s so special you two were able to go together. We plan on going at some point, together this time :-)
