This is art for sure! We are in the Glass industry restoration and business owners often call us to remove graffiti and acid etching on their stores windows…those are not art they just gibberish how ever if they would do something like the images you have posted that a whole different ball game.

Interesting post! Toronto indeed has a lot of street art. We really enjoyed it too when we were there. It’s also nice that you explained how artist works and why some tags really looks so weird.

You must check out Melbourne if you’re into street art, best I’ve seen. This street art is much more artistic than the ‘tagging’ I see on freeway overpasses in my city (San Jose). Wonder how a city can go about changing that. Painting over it doesn’t seem to work.

I think if done right, graffiti can actually be more artistic than some of the crap that appears in art museums.
