Just a note from a Pocahontas County local on your first drive. This is an awesome drive but you should be aware that the Highland Scenic Highway, Rt 150, is not maintained through the winter months. Although no plowing makes it a great place for cross country skiing, it is at times not passable by vehicle in winter months.

I love all the fall colors! These are clearly great scenic drives to do at that time of the year. All the photos remind me so much of home as it looks quite a lot like Pennsylvania.

In reply to Laura. Laura, We were in WV for a couple of months and found that the Fall was incredibly beautiful and highly underrated. A lot of travelers do overlook WV and we hope to change that. :-)

Such beautiful drives, especially in the fall. I feel like West Virginia gets overlooked a lot, but it has such a great landscape. We drove down to The Greenbrier once in White Sulphur Springs, WV, and had an amazing time there.
