We recently spent a Summer housesitting in New Hampshire and absolutely fell in love with the White Mountain National Forest. Located in the northern portion of NH, the White Mountains make for a great day trip or a lovely weekend getaway. It has all of the elements that make for a perfect rambling road trip: beautiful landscapes, great road conditions, and lovely little towns chock full of character and charm. We’ve put together this road trip planner for the White Mountain National Forest in New Hampshire to help you plan your own perfect getaway!
The winding mountain passes and back country roads make West Virginia a perfect location to plan a scenic road trip. Whether you plan to tour through West Virginia on a motorcycle, car, or RV, you can spend days exploring the beautiful countryside as well as taking in some really neat cultural and historical sites. We spent some time based out of Snowshoe, WV and Pocahontas County and have put together this road trip planner for West Virginia scenic drives that is sure to satisfy your wanderlust.
What do crisp mountain air, incredible vistas, and winding roads all have in common? There’s one place in America that will give you all three in plentiful abundance: The Blue Ridge Parkway. We’ve driven the entire road from end to end as well as it’s smaller sister road, Skyline Drive, and are happy to report that everything that has been said about this road is true. It’s a road trip you and your family will never forget. Check out our Road Trip Planner for the Blue Ridge Parkway & Skyline Drive for every thing you’ll ever need to know about planning this epic getaway.
Other than being knows as Pennsylvania’s state capitol, the city of Harrisburg isn’t exactly known as a popular travel destination. Hershey, PA on the other hand immediately conjures up visions of chocolate kisses dancing in the streets and is well-known for its theme park and other tourism friendly attractions. The funny part is that the two cities are only about 20 minutes apart from each other and both offer lots of fun and interesting attractions. With that in mind, we’ve put together the Ramblin’ Hershey Harrisburg travel guide that covers everything we think you should take in when visiting these two great cities.
Baltimore is known for a lot of things, perhaps most famously though, for it’s warm and welcoming namesake, Charm City. Well I am happy to report that it lives up to it’s name when we had the opportunity to spend a few weeks exploring this fine city and it’s surrounding areas. With it’s beautiful inner harbor, diverse neighborhoods, and variety of attractions it’s no wonder Baltimore is Maryland’s top tourism destination. Check out our Baltimore Travel Guide and Trip Planner for lots of “Rambler certified” activities and attractions.
